Since I started doing my makeup a few years ago(2 yrs this coming June) I realize that I love big bold looks
Those are fun to do but it’s ok to look subtle very now and then as well. I am so thankful that I have friends who love makeup just as much as I do and have introduced me to nude lips and “everyday” makeup. I have fallen in love with mauves, browns and peaches. I may even do a video soon to showcase my favorite browngirl friendly nudes.
I am so happy that one of my friends decided to help me out and show an everyday makeup look. You can check that out here. We decided to create these looks and demo the new Becca Chrissy Teigen Palette.
I am so glad that I didn’t write off nude lipsticks and glosses. I am having so much fun creating these everyday looks now. Let me know what some of your favorite nude lipsticks are.
I have always loved the idea of a subscription service for products. I mean you get items delivered right to your door and you can try out samples of different products. I joined a popular makeup subscription service a few months ago and I was so excited because i had seen all the hype behind it.
Well, imagine my disappointment when I received my box and the products i paid for just were not right for my skin type. I am a WOC(woman of color) I have gold undertones, so not ALL makeup will work for me. I felt like it was a waste of my money when I was not able to use most of the products that I had purchased.
I was a little sad. Well, imagine my joy when I found out that Essence is debuting their own beauty box in OCT 2015! I am so excited to try out this subscription box. For only $15 a month I will be able to try products that will work for my skin tone as well as support business owned by POC(Essence has stated that they will feature at least one product a month by a black owned business)
This seriously has made me so excited. I can’t wait until October so I can see what is inside the first box. You can sign up for your own box here
I have been playing in makeup a lot lately. Learning what I like and what I don’t like, learning different techniques to apply and just overall having some fun.
I decided that this year I was going to step outside the box when it came to my lipstick shades and I am proud of myself of sticking to that promise. Each friday I will feature a shade that I wouldn’t wear normally. Fun Lip Friday will be a day that I encourage all my readers to step outside the box too. I would love to see what looks you come up with. So please tag me on IG @floridanatural83 and hashtag the pic #funlipfriday.
I am going on vacation and I wanted to have something light and moisturizing on my lips that I could just throw on and also give me a POP of color. I decided to give two brands a try and pit them against each other to see who comes out on top
I purchased Covergirl Outlast lipstain (#420) and Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain(Smitten) here is the breakdown for the two of them. I wore them both for at least half of the day from 9:00 am to 3:00 p.m and here are my thoughts
I had to reapply this one more than 4 times in the time period. It didn’t stay on very long and I couldn’t get enough product on my lip because of the applicator. The applicator looks like a felt marker tip. It was semi moisturizing but not enough for the Caribbean heat that I am about to be in.
The application was very smooth and easy to put on. It was VERY moisturizing and also had a little lip plumping action going on (not that I need that but it was still nice.) The color was amazing
So in this challenge Revlon won hands down. I loved it so much that I went out and purchased another color(darling #10) If you want the full breakdown you can visit my video review here.
